Alper Utku, Managing Director

Alper Utku is the Managing Director of Middle East Management Centre (MEMC). Prior to MEMC, he has worked for Set Group Holding. Although his official business location is in Brussels and he resides in Istanbul. Alper Utku assumes that work should be enjoyable and an integral part of a balanced life . Therefore he equally enjoys working and creating time for himself and his wife and two daughters. Alper Utku likes to be in the nature through hiking, skiing, sailing. His recent endevaour has been sailing across Atlantic in 20 days which he finds as a wonderful personal experience. He likes to read about history, science, faith and philosophy as well as business.

He values inspiration and guidance as a leadership style over command control. Therefore he prefers a collaborative management style in which employees are treated as mature individuals who have capability to contribute to business. He is a firm believer that businesses can only grow through people and our people will grow with our business. Utku follows a paperless, non-status, equal opportunity office system. He does not have a room of his own, secretary and driver neither in his office in İstanbul nor Brussels. He constantly tries to promote the philosophy that better relationships are based on serving our clients, people, team members, suppliers to make their life better which in turn will benefit all. His life mission is to make a positive change in this world through supporting change in organisations.

Alper Utku graduated from Bogazici University Mechanical Engineering Department in 1991 and currently attending Ashridge / Middlesex University Doctorate on Organizational Consultancy. He speaks Turkish, English and French.
